Scandinavian cool and a street vibe edge

Friday 24th May 2013

With no albums out and only two internet singles, 23 year old MØ, is being pursued by some of the most respectable label in the UK/US.

MØ is spending the fall in the studio, wrapping up her anticipated debut album with Ronni Vindahl of danish production entity No Wav. No Wav. consists of Ronny Vindahl and Robin Hannibal who are also responsible for other notable acts such as Quadron, Rhye, & Boom Clap Bachelors.

Listeners can expect the same kind of lush, warm production as the aforementioned acts, however MØ brings the Scandinavian cold/cool and a street vibe edge to the songs which makes for a sonic juxtaposition. Her unique mix of indie, pop, hiphop, electronics, and soul is hella fresh sounding and it genuinely sounds like MØ is fighting a battle of mixed emotions inside of herself.

Already hailed as “the next Grimes” and having played alongside canadian Purity Ring, it seems like MØ is about to experience similar hype as those aforementioned acts.

There is not much info out there on MØ who tends to let her music do the talking, but her Facebook biography reveals a glimpse of her current state of mind:

The snow nation is eating your brain and your young heart – dark as the apocalypse. So just go perish in the snøw. mø mø mø MØ MØ MØ

MØ will perform at Dot to Dot Festival 2013.
