With her official UK debut, “The Double EP: A Sea of Split Peas”, Australian singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett casts her woozy spell over listeners with her hazy tales of suburban banalities and mindless procrastination, with the breakthrough track “Avant Gardener” in particular proving a powerful calling card, earning her ardent admirers in both the press and on radio.
Now, as Barnett is readying her debut LP proper (due for release later in the year), she returns to the UK for a series of much anticipated shows. Her first two gigs in London this month (at the Sebright Arms and Ace Hotel) may have already sold out, but not to worry – she’s playing a slew of dates in May as well, taking in festivals like Dot to Dot as well as her own headline shows across the country. Make sure not to miss an incomparable and exciting new talent on the rise.
