To Kill a King - Funeral

Easy-going, charming tones

Thursday 23rd May 2013

Appearing at Dot to Dot Festival 2013, ‘To Kill a King’ have released new single ‘Funeral’. The band will be performing live at Bristol's O2 Academy, Manchester's Sound Control, and Nottingham venue Jongleurs. Not one to be missed.

The easy-going, charming tones and attitude of the band take the listener effortlessly through the track. The newly released Funeral starts with a light simple guitar riff flowing into folk-influenced vocals, with gloomier sounding undertones which soon progress into a more upbeat, cheerful musical interlude. In the music video the band have used a childhood scene of rollercoasters by the beach; this nostalgic imagery shows the band as not only musically but also visually creative. This track is sure to gather a crowd at Dot to Dot this year.

The group have some clever remixes and covers under their belt which are worth a listen, include a remix of Emeli Sande’s, ‘Next To Me.’ In which the band not only use their expected clean drum beats but also an electronic feel with digital riffs created alongside astounding vocals from Sande.
