100 Club Recommends

Ruby is the 4^th generation of Hortons to run the basement club on Oxford Street, whilst Matt joined the team back in 2020 as the venue’s in-house promoter. Recently booking the likes of Ugly, Vlure and Devon Ross and the Thurston Moore Group, they know what’s what when it comes to who you should be looking to catch live.

Together, they’ve put together a brilliant playlist encompassing what the club stands for – great new music (best seen live), and absolute icons (many of whom will have performed in front of the big 100 on the stage).

MADMADMAD - Gwarn: An absolute must to see live. The live electronic-disco outfit supported Warmduscher on the last day of our End of Year Series last year and got the entire room going. Cant recommend them enough, and can’t wait to see what they get up to next. 

PJ Harvey - A Child’s Question, August: We will always go back to the legend that is PJ Harvey. We were over the moon to see her release and tour last year, and we’re hoping for much more to come.

PISTASHIO - Without you: A great release from this electronic two piece. I’m really enjoying the fact that the underground dance scene is having its’ moment again. There’s going to be a lot to look forward to this year, including seeing what PISTASHIO get up to.

dialE - Like E: 'The standout track from dialE’s second EP ‘dear dialE'. The enigmatic Newham rapper has had a big year, most recently culminating in a sell-out for his debut headline at London’s Courtyard Theatre, and amassing nearly 7.5 million streams despite his relative infancy with the project. Punchy, jazzy arrangements aided by producer Alfie Rudman perfectly compliment dialE’s delivery. He’s most definitely one to watch.

Ugly - Shepherd’s Carol: ‘A real 100 Club favourite. Ugly recently sold out their show with us as part of our end-of-year series, wowing a packed room. Ugly’s ambitious songwriting has propelled their project over the last year. With new music on the way, alongside a busy summer of festivals, there’s plenty more to come for the Cambridge/London six-piece.’

Lynks - CPR: ‘Lynks is a force of nature. If you’ve been sleeping on their music and unmissable live show, get acquainted. Now releasing with the much-loved label, Heavenly Records, Lynks shows no signs of slowing down and on CPR, they once-again deliver a chaotic dose of sultry and claustrophobic electronic-inspired punk.'

Cristale - Artiste: ’23-year-old Cristale is one of the UK’s brightest emerging lights in drill. The Brixton-raised multi-disciplinarian has a number of strings to her bow - having also started in the Daniel Kaluuya-directed ’The Kitchen’ (alongside the likes of Kano) - but her music is a go-to at the 100 Club and we’re keenly anticipating her next releases in 2024.'
