03Interview

Describe your style in three words?

Old school skinhead.

The first track you played on repeat?

Dave & Ansell Collins - Monkey Spanner

Love the old boss Jamaican ska/reggae sound this track highlights. Can listen to it anywhere and at any time.

A song from your favorite album?

Madness - Night Boat To Cairo

The first album I ever bought. This track brings back so many wonderful memories. Great times of growing up in the late '70s. Fred Perry polo, boots, braces, sta-press trousers. If only we could turn the clock back.

A song from your most memorable gig?

Madness - NW5

An awesome tune from 'The Liberty of Norton Folgate' by Madness. Always goes down well at their gigs. A much-loved favourite of most Madness fans.

A song that always gets you up and dancing?

Toots & The Maytals - 5446 Was My Number

An absolute classic by the late great Toots Hibbert with The Maytals. Can't stay seated when this is on.

A new song you're listening to?

The Launchers - Stop Don't Listen

A fantastic debut album by The Launchers. This is my favourite track but the album 'The Leader' is full of awesome tunes. Look out for their 2nd album on its way.

Best song to turn up loud?

Dave & Ansell Collins - Double Barrel

Another smashing jump around tune. One of the best from those great old reggae vaults.

A song that defines the teenage you?

Harry J Allstars - Liquidator

One of my favourites growing up. Heading down to Stamford Bridge with my Dad and my late brother. Watching the teams come onto the pitch with this great sound playing. Great memories that stay with you forever. The teams still enter the pitch to this track now.

An anthemic song?

The Specials - Gangsters

The song that started the ska revival back in 1979. Followed The Specials ever since. An anthemic song for all 2Tone followers.

Best song to end an all-nighter?

The Specials - Do Nothing

A calm down track that would be a great way to end an all-night drunken binge. A great singalong from the 'More Specials' album.
