Name, where are you from?
Yo, I’m Pat. I’m from Bedford but I’m originally from Poland, a town called Piekary Ślaskie to be exact.

Describe your style in three words?
Geezer meets roadman.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Best gig I’ve been to was definitely Post Malone at Wireless 2018, that guys stage presence was unbelievable, he’s also got bangers. I just remember the crowd going absolutely mad and I was just stood there taking it in thinking imagine if I can do that one day.

If you could be on the line up with any two bands or artists in history?
Narrowing this down to two is absolutely impossible, haha, but if I really had to choose the first one would definitely be Skepta. BBK sets were such a massive part of my introduction to British culture. when I heard Skepta and JME spitting back to back on some old YouTube freestyles I was hooked from then, reckon I got a bit gassed and went to school the next day in a SnapBack. The second one would definitely be Kanye West I can’t even lie. That man is not human, the things he’s done in music are ridiculous and 'College Dropout' is one of the greatest albums ever made in my humble opinion.

Which Subcultures have influenced you?
Growing up I was fascinated by British culture as it was completely new to me and I wanted to learn as much as possible, '80s casuals, mods, skinheads and pretty much every British working class subculture has influenced me to some degree. I love the crossover between all of them and love the fact that I can spot similarities between say, for example, the grime scene and '80s casuals. I just love them all and implement them to my style.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Probably Plato or any of his philosopher bredrins like Marcus Aurelius and them man. Also, would be quite sick to chat to the Buddha if I could have all three of them in a room that would be mad. Feel like I’d come out of that experience a new man and just view the world different, I’d need more than an hour though I can’t lie.

Of all the venues you’ve been to, which is your favourite?
Bedford Esquires, it's the greatest venue in the world, Royal Albert Hall is sick too but not quite Bedford Esquires.

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
That’s tough you know there are so many artists that I feel should be bigger than they are, definitely would say Frankie Stew and Harvey Gunn - really love what they are doing, it’s authentic and easy to listen to big ratings for them man.

04Playlist Notes

The first track you played on repeat?
'This Love' by Maroon 5. It used to come on a Lipton Ice Tea advert in Poland back when I didn’t even speak English. I used to try to learn the tune to sing it like Adam Levine did in the video but in reality, I was just talking absolute gibberish.

A song that defines the teenage you?
'Sexual' by NEIKED. That song literally reminds me of the summer after GCSEs and going house parties and it just makes me feel good every time I listen to it.

One record you would keep forever?
'Bud, Sweat and Beers' by Devlin. Just because it was one of the first albums I bought so it has a special place in my heart.

A song lyric that has inspired you?
“Ważne sa tylko te dni których jescze nie znamy” which basically translates to “the only important days are the ones we don’t know yet”

From 'Dni, ktorych nie znamy' by Marek Grechuta. I just think that lyric means a lot to me because I used to dwell on the past a lot and it helped me realise that basically, that’s a bit pointless because you can’t change the past, so you gotta focus your energy in the present and look forward to the more important days.

A song you wished you had written?
'Shape Of You' by Ed Sheeran. That tunes got like 2.7 billion streams. Ed must be doing alright off that innit.

Best song to turn up loud?
'Talkin The Hardest' by Giggs. Without a doubt that should be England’s national anthem.

A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
I like bare weird music. I’m a bit of a sucker for girly tunes as well, I’m not even gonna lie, so I’m gonna go with 'Most Girls' by Hailee Steinfeld. What a bop.

The song to get you straight on the dance floor?
Easily 'Dancing In The Moonlight' by Toploader. That tune goes crazy.

Best song to end an all-nighter?
Only one song to answer this innit 'Mr. Brightside' by The Killers. One million percent, it’s the soundtrack to drunken 6am mornings eating soggy chips and dodgy kebabs stumbling to get a taxi.

Any new bands you are into at the moment?
Really loving Everyone You Know. Not sure if they class as a band but they are very wavey. Also really loving Larry Pink The Human, they’ve got some great tunes.
