A Rising Irish Photo
I’m Seba Safe. I’m from Galway, Ireland.
Open, heartfelt, Irish
When I was 11 my mum took me to a Josh Ritter concert, the show was amazing but more importantly it made me want to become a songwriter.
Queen and Big Thief . Big Thief are one of my favourite bands out there now and Queen are one of if not the best bend of all Time. Plus the crowd would be sound.
Grunge definitely changed my life as an early teen. It was the start of me expressing myself through music and falling in love with performing. I then moved onto Pop Punk which certainly helped. Me learn to write more mainstream. R&B/Rap/Hip Hop made me start thinking about phrasing lyrics rhythmically which really improved my flow and made my songs more interesting.
The construction site foreman of the pyramids just to simply ask how the fuck they did that.
The Olympia in Dublin has always been my favourite venue and is definitely a bucket list show of mine to play. I think the beauty of the venue brings out the best from the acts and the crowds. I saw Catfish and the Bottlemen play there and all their families had come too it was special.
Josh Ritter as mentioned above, I think lyrically he’s up there with the best. Also Jamie T , he needs to be world domination famous.
The Kids Aren’t alright - Offspring , My brother had the ‘Americana’ album on Tape I used to steal it and his walkman all the time and rinse that album.
In Bloom - Nirvana. Nirvana started a band in my garage at 12 years old. We’d play Nirvana covers all day long. They pretty much started everything for me.
Vaneer - José González. Beautiful record all around but his cover of Heartbeats to me is one of the nicest recorded songs of all time, certainly the best cover of all time. (In my opinion)
The entirety of 'Case of you’ by Joni Mitchell it’s a masterpiece
Depreston - Courtney Barnett , funny , clever, emotive, brilliant.
Money Trees - Kendrick Lamar , Love the album (Good Kid Ma.a.d City) love that song. Perfect for driving.
Here you come again - Dolly Parton. Dolly Parton is a Legend. I saw her live once and she blew me away she writes her own songs and is a fantastic multi-instrumentalist.
Too Late to Turn Back Now - Cornelius Brothers & Sister Rose . No answer needed.
All my friends - LCD Soundsystem (Or if people are fading - Spanish Sahara - Foals)
Basht. A young Dublin band, great things coming.
