Name, where are you from?
My name is Andreww and I'm a British musician living in London.
Describe your style in three words?
Workwear, grunge, sneakers.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Because it was a full-circle moment probably seeing AC/DC with my dad. When I was eight I asked him if we could go and see them one day and seventeen years later we finally did. Really special moment for me.
If you could be on the line up with any two artists in history?
I'm one of the biggest Rage Against The Machine fans ever. Tom Morello is my god. No one has energy like them. Bon Iver is the most gifted musician I've ever heard. Emotion doesn’t get any rawer than him. Plus I always ball my eyes out when he comes on so I'll get to have a good cry. I actually have the word 'Holocene' tattooed on my chest because it's the most important song in my life.
Which subcultures have influenced you?
Musically grunge/rock and trap have played a huge part in my writing and composing. I spent my entire youth listening to Seattle bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, The Germs, Pumpkins etc and when I got older and Travis dropped 'Owl Pharaoh' I was hooked. I think style-wise I'm a mix between Kurt and '90s New York hip-hop. Baggy pants, mohair cardigans, uptowns, timberlands etc.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
It may be obvious but I would choose Kurt Cobain. I would just love to have some beers, smoke some cigarettes and talk about music.
Or even just jam for an hour with not a word said.
Of all the venues you’ve been to or played, which is your favourite?
I played my first gig at the local youth centre when I was thirteen. I went there every Friday religiously and when we played there I felt like I was on top of the world. It's been torn down now but always gonna be a special place to me.
Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
The artist Lucy Rose has one song that helped me through a very dark time in my life. I would sit in my room all night and just listen to this one sing. She kind of saved my life.
The first track you played on repeat?
'Lose Yourself' by Eminem.
A song that defines the teenage you?
'Warning Sign' by Coldplay.
One record you would keep forever?
'Bon Iver' by Bon Iver.
A song lyric that has inspired you?
"Whatever I am to you that’s fine"
From 'The Optimist' by Adam French.
The song that would get you straight on the dance floor?
'R U Mine' by Arctic Monkeys.
A song you wished you had written?
'No Halo' by Brockhampton.
Best song to turn up loud?
'Piss On Your Grave' by Travis Scott (ft. Kanye West).
A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
'Exile' by Taylor Swift.
Best song to end an all-nighter on?
'Dreams' by Fleetwood Mac.
Any new music you are listening to right now?
'Mountain' by M.Byrd.
'See You Soon' by VC Pines.
'Lizard' by Drool.
'Taximann' by Schmyt.
