Describe your style in three words?
Polished, colourful, contemporary.
The first track you played on repeat?
Paramore - crushcrushcrush
The first song I remember my Dad playing to me in the car. We are both huge music fans with very similar tastes, we discovered Paramore at the same time. Every time he gets a new car, we test the speakers out using this song.
A song from your favorite album?
Courteeners - More. Again. Forever
My first tattoo pays homage to this album; there is not a bad song on this CD and what's better, is that it is an emotional rollercoaster. 'Hanging Off Your Cloud' was my favourite, but I think that's because it reflected things I was going through when it was released.
A song from your most memorable gig?
DMA'S - Life Is a Game of Changing
Brixton 2020 was my last outing pre-COVID and so it is relived and replayed in my memory multiple times a day. I remember being on some random lads shoulders for this and just having the absolute time of my life. I even feature in the live video on Youtube!
A song that always gets you up and dancing?
Deep.sleep - Soho
The catchy beat and clever lyrics just remind me of my youth and having endless fun at small gigs. One of those that I could belt out on a microphone at any degree of intoxication.
A new song you're listening to?
The Jaded Hearts Club - I Put a Spell on You
The Jaded Hearts Club new album has been on repeat recently. Covering well-known, but less covered songs is a niche tracklisting that I never knew I needed. This track has obvious Halloween/Seasonal connotations and I can't stop listening.
Best song to turn up loud?
The Stone Roses - She Bangs the Drums - Remastered
I could have picked any Oasis/Roses song for this, but 'She Bangs the Drums' is something special. Fun fact: I still want to learn to play the drums just so I can relate to the lyrics even more!
A song that defines the teenage you?
Jamie T - Zombie
I saw Jamie T at Reading 2015. The line up on that Sunday was incredible (Jamie, The Maccabees, The Cribs, Kendrick Lamar followed by The Libertines).
An anthemic song?
The Kills - Fried My Little Brains
Any KoL or Kasabian tune qualifies for me, but this was my first thought when it comes to anthems. Liam Fray put me on this and I love turning the volume right up on this track.
Best song to end an all-nighter?
David Bowie - Heroes - 2017 Remaster
A true classic. If you don't know all the lyrics to this and you can't blast it at 5am after a session, we can't be friends.
