03Interview

Describe your style in three words?

Cozy, Dark and Warm.

The first track you played on repeat? And where did you play it?

Blood Orange - Charcoal Baby

I was in my room a couple days after the album dropped and I kept coming back to this song for good vibes.

A song from your favourite album? And what does this track mean to you?

Tyler, The Creator - GONE, GONE / THANK YOU

The track and album helped me put my past behind me and care more about the present.

A song from your most memorable gig?

Vince Staples - Blue Suede

I was in my first mosh pit at Pacific Coliseum and seeing things up close was a lot more fun than being in the back.

A song that always gets you up and dancing?

bLAck pARty - Dancing

The first time I heard this song, I got up immediately and started dancing to it. There was just something about this song that made me wanna dance everytime and I still don’t know what it was.

A new song you're listening to? Why do you like this artist?

Lil Uzi Vert - Baby Pluto

I thought there would be a beat drop when I first heard this song but Uzi just kept going and there was no beat drop.

Best song to turn up loud? And why?

Pop Smoke - Shake The Room (feat. Quavo)

I basically listen to this song everywhere I am. It could be work, at home or in the car. It’s just a song that an early legend left for us before he moved on to a better place.

A song that defines the teenage you? And the memories it evokes?

FUR - If You Know That I'm Lonely

A lot of loneliness despite being surrounded by great people.

An anthemic song? Why does it get your pulse racing?

Travis Scott - BUTTERFLY EFFECT

No words. Just listen for yourself if you haven’t already heard this song.

Best song to end an all-nighter?

Daniel Caesar - CYANIDE

When you’re tired, Daniel Caesar’s soothing voice on CYANIDE could easily help you end an all-nighter by closing your eyes.
