My name is Lucy Tun and I’m British Burmese. "LCYTN" is just my full name without the vowels.
Flashy, QT, Grandma.
I went to see Major Lazer at Alexandra Palace in 2016. Me and my friend Simran were super fans, so we made our own merch. It was the first time she’d properly gone out since having a back operation and during one of the songs, we took our tops off before a drop. It was something we would’ve never done but waving the painted T-shirts around in our bras was the most empowering feeling we’d felt in a long time. Was quite sweaty though!
Earth, Wind & Fire because their music has taken me out of my darkest days. And Santana, so I could learn the guitar solo from 'Samba Pa Ti'. My Dad has been playing that to me since I was born.
Disco, drag and video game culture. One taught me to move when you are simply feeling stuck. Another helped me express ALL aspects of myself in any shape I saw fit and exhibited the beauty of transformation. Video games brought out my obsession with escapism and without them, I wouldn’t have been able to cope with being comfortable alone.
Pharrell because I love every single thing he’s made. I’ll show him my beats and he’ll not rate any of it. Then I’ll feel like I’ve absolutely made it.
I performed on a yacht to about 60 people in Myanmar a few years back. Didn’t realise the boat would actually sail out while I was singing and I’ve never performed so badly. The only other things I could see was the night sky and some cargo ships with a loud horn and the whole show was awkward. The eerie atmosphere definitely brought me out of my comfort zone, so I’m very thankful for it.
My older brother Daniel, part of the band Bobby Mandala’s Midnight Elite. I’ve ended up copying everything he’s been making for years. He also played the guitar on Ride!

Who really remembers that? Probably a Disney song.
'Sad Dream' by Sky Ferreira. Because I was angsty as hell. A late bloomer for sure.
'Berceuse' by Frank Bridge. The only classical piece I remember how to play on the piano. Timeless.
“But I forget 23 like I forget 17 And I forget my first love, like you forget a daydream”
From 'White' by Odd Future.
'Simulated Void' by Osquello.
'A Chit Thi Chin' by Myo Kyawt Myaing. There isn’t one Burmese person I know who won’t belt that chorus like their life depended on it.
Umm. 'Грустная Сука' by IC3PEAK.
'LITE SPOTS' by KAYTRANADA.
ASMR. Let me sleep plzz zz.
'Summin I Said' by CARLA.
'Give Me Another Chance' by Empress Of.
'Kolo Kolo' by Balming Tiger.
'Wide Awake' by Nige.
'Ride Away' by Joviale.
'No Trippin' by Htet.
