A Pixey Photo
I’m Pixey, from Liverpool.
Polos, stripes and platforms.
It’s not a single gig, but Glastonbury festival has to be the best music experience I’ve ever been to. I think about Janelle Monáe’s set almost every day.
It would be an all-female line up including Janis Joplin and Grimes.
Would definitely say I’ve been influenced by elements of '60s mod revival and nostalgic '90s subculture.
George Harrison. I would have so much to ask him about his writing process for the album 'All Things Must Pass', but also question him thoroughly about his style choices in the '80s.
My favourite to go to and play was Sound Basement on Duke Street in Liverpool. I have so many good memories there. Unfortunately, the venue has closed, like too many others in the city this year.
Female producers and audio engineers are definitely the unsung heroines of the music industry. Without them, I wouldn’t have learned to write and produce on my own. A favourite of mine is Emily Lazar.
Listen, purchase or stream Pixey's latest track 'Just Move' via pixey.ffm.to/justmove.
'She Loves You' by The Beatles.
'Feel Good Hit of the Summer' by Queens of the Stone Age.
'Lost in the Dream' by The War On Drugs.
"You can't write if you can't relate / Trade the cash for the beef, for the body, for the hate"
From 'Loser' by Beck.
'Brimful of Asha' by Cornershop.
'Fade Into You' by Mazzy Star.
'You Showed Me' by The Lightning Seeds.
'Door' by Caroline Polachek.
'Mary' by Beija Flo.
'Put A Record On' by Noisy.
'canalboatrodeo' by SPILT.
