Name, where are you from?
Tahj Keeton, Atlanta, Georgia.

Describe your style in three words?
Whatever I want.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Man... when I was 17 I saw Travis perform at Morehouse in Atlanta for their homecoming and I snuck on stage and he let me stay on stage for like 15 minutes bro until 'Antidote' came on and I flew into the crowd. I could’ve sh*t my pants right there, on that stage. I've met flame on several occasions but that was really the wildest shit for me as a kid.

If you could be on the line up with any two artists in history?
Rage Against The Machine and Odd Future. I just love chaos and those two groups are the epitome of chaos. Mosh pits on mosh pits. A lot of people just losing their sh*t man. We would make riots. Whatever festival it is... it would be the last.

Which subcultures have influenced you?
A lot of the '90s grunge scene inspired me. I don’t sound anything like that, but I like how real it was. I like things that I know are genuine. That sh*t was just a bunch of lost kids tryna let you know they need to be heard.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
That’s a hard one but probably Michael Jackson or Quincy Jones. The music they made together was absolutely perfect. I would just like to talk to them about work ethic and how they kept reinventing themselves. So for this one, I'm going to have to choose both because they were peanut butter and jelly together.

Of all the venues you’ve been to or played, which is your favourite?
The craziest show I’ve ever done was at The Bakery in Atlanta at this festival called Lotus Rosary. Sh*t was so lit. I was sick as f*ck though, I was going to cancel my set but I pushed through and I'm so grateful I did. I couldn’t f*cking breathe but the rage was so real that night. That was also the first time I performed the song 'SARF' before its release and the response was absolutely nuts.

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
Mac Miller man. I love that man to death. It was definitely one of my goals to work with him one day and it hurts to know I'll never even hold a conversation with him. Truly one of the greatest artist of our time and all time. I don’t give a f*ck what nobody says.

04Playlist Notes

The first track you played on repeat?
'Flashing Lights' by Kanye West. There is not a flaw in that song. Those violins made me feel something so deep in my chest when I was younger. My first time hearing it was when 'Graduation' came out, my math teacher at the time would play 'Flashing Lights' while we were doing classwork. I remember going home like “WHAT THE F IS THIS!?” And I couldn’t stop listening!

A song that defines the teenage you?
'Deathcamp' by Tyler, The Creator. It feels like leaving the simulation. teenage tahj was stuck in a loop. I had to get out. I remember one time in high school I just stopped talking. Shit was getting so repetitive I just decided to stop talking for two weeks to see what would happen. I was going crazy. I went to the whitest most privileged private school ever. I took the train an hour from south Atlanta every day to be with the most close-minded people. I was only there because I was good at basketball but that sh*t was becoming draining. So yeah. Ha.

One record you would keep forever?
Like just one song to listen to forever? 'Seigfried' by Frank Ocean. That song is lovely man. I think he’s the best songwriter. I think he has perfected making simple things exquisite. A powerful human being Frank is. everything he touches is gold.

A song lyric that has inspired you?
Just play 'Alone, Omen 3' by King Krule. The whole song is inspiration at its purest. You can’t listen to it and not feel it. All the lyrics to that song is my choice. BUT DON'T FORGET YOU’RE NOT ALONE!

The song that would get you straight on the dance floor?
'Rabbit Hole' by Cherry Glazerr. Cherry Glazerr is my favourite band in the world. I love them. I love Clem. Fortunately, I just became friends with her (she’s the lead singer and guitarist) but CG has been my favourite for years. Best band ever. Some of the most unfiltered and real music ever. Every emotion that is meant to be conveyed is reflected perfectly in these songs.

A song you wished you had written?
'Summertime' by Vince Staples. I've never really said this but I think he’s one of the greatest ever. He knows what he’s doing. People sleep on Vince though. He makes albums you can sink into and this specific song is exactly what I mean by sinking into a song. It feels like your floating in the middle of the ocean at 3am.

Best song to turn up loud?
'On That Time' by Playboi Carti. That’s my sh*t right now. I lose my mind. My brain melts and violence just hits my brain. I love it.

A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
'//aguardiente y limón %ᵕ‿‿ᵕ%' by Kali Uchis. The majority of this song is in Spanish but it's perfect. The drums, the chords, her melodies. Her new album is magnificent but that song has been on repeat lately. I'm low-key learning the whole song by heart and I don’t even speak Spanish.

Best song to end an all-nighter on?
'Terminal B' by 070 Shake. She’s amazing. She’s the best. I think she’s one of the greatest things to happen to music in a while. the most unique voice over these futuristic sounds... *chefs kiss*. Don’t even get me started on her melodies.

Any new music you are listening to right now?
'Crisis' by Hollow Sinatra. A very close friend of mine. Like a little brother me. Love this kid. His music is nothing but the future. I think he’s the future of this genre bending sh*t. He’s also not afraid to be himself at all. He just a real nigga.
'Rage Kido' by Owen Fiction. Another very close friend of mine. He’s a genius with the guitar and melodies. His new album is premium. He’s a genius. More people will come to find out how much of a genius he is soon.
'Private Location' by J Dlux. Is one of my favourites from Atlanta right now. He’s the best in trap right now. Nobody messing with him. From lyrics to beat selection. I admire his music because you can listen and tell how intelligent he really is while still maintaining that trap aesthetic. He’s going to be really important to the city of Atlanta soon trust me.
'NUN 2 DO!' by Jelani Imani. One of the best lyricist in Atlanta right now. He has an energy unlike anything I’ve ever heard. I think he’ll be a very important staple to the city of Atlanta as well. He has that soul that Atlanta is lacking right now, there's something beautiful about listening to peoples music and hearing their heart.
'Nightmare' by Tom The Mail Man. This nigga gonna be everywhere soon. trust me. He’s going to be one of the biggest artists in the world. I don’t have to say much. You’ll get it when you hear him. we have the same manager, and we stayed together out in LA for like two weeks along with our brother 6dogs. I got to hear his new sh*t. Nothing but hits.
