The GRAMMY Museum’s new exhibition showcases Amy’s most iconic fashion moments, as well as objects from her personal archive

One of the most prestigious music awards, the GRAMMYs celebrate music’s past, present and future - the highly coveted gold gramophone a universal symbol of talent for over seventy years. Past winners include David Bowie, Aretha Franklin and Kanye West, as well as our very own British icon Amy Winehouse who was awarded six throughout her career.

To ring in the official start of awards season, the GRAMMY museum is hosting a new exhibition celebrating the distinctive style and enduring musical career of Amy Winehouse who was not only known for her incredible musical talent, but for her tumbling beehive, sailor tattoos and pin-up clothes. Her music and style went hand in hand.

A retrospective of the singer’s life, the exhibition explores Amy’s indelible mark on music, fashion and pop culture, displaying her most iconic outfits alongside never-before-seen journal entries, handwritten lyrics and original designs for Fred Perry.

"Amy always credited my mother, her grandmother Cynthia, as a major influence, both stylistically — as she taught her the importance of grooming and having a look — and musically."

"She liked to call me a 'cab-driving Sinatra' and her mother's side of the family were also musicians."

"Amy not only brought her gift of music to the world, but also her fashion. We're eager for people to see her bold, beautiful spirit through all forms of her creativity and look forward to honouring her legacy by displaying these items at the GRAMMY Museum."

The exhibition also highlights the vital work of The Amy Winehouse Foundation and the impact the charity has on young people with addiction issues.

Beyond Black – the Style of Amy Winehouse will run until 13th April 2020 at the GRAMMY Museum, 800 W Olympic Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90015, USA

We continue to work with the Amy Winehouse Foundation, making a contribution to the charity with each collection, supporting their vital work.
