Name, where are you from?
I'm Jordan, from West London.

Describe your style dress sense in three words?
No eyed deer. (See what I did there?)

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
I went to a 'Hoping For Palestine' gig at Camden roundhouse a couple of years back… had so many of my favourite artists. It was amazing to see. Cross genres and people I never expected to see in the same room!

If you could be on the line up with any two artists in history?
I guess If I were handing out dreams it would be pretty crazy to perform alongside Beethoven. More so to just see him orchestrate 'Moonlight Sonata'. then to finish off the show by bringing out Young Thug and going crazy.

Which subcultures have influenced you?
I'm definitely influenced by almost everything but I really like late '60s/early '70s psychedelia. It's just so interesting to me. The music I'm currently working (far from release) on to me feels like a lost page from a book written back then.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
If I'm spending an hour with anyone from history, gotta be Lucy… The first-ever human! Anything else I feel would be a waste of a wish. I reckon she would've liked The Doors.

Of all the venues you’ve been to or played, which is your favourite?
I'm only new to the world of playing live, thanks to the pandemic. But Next Door Records will forever be close to my heart. They helped me put on a great birthday show for all my friends/family and strangers.

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
I'm not sure about unsung, but I really think that more people need to know who Robert Johnson is. He really paved the way for all of us. A true rockstar and a genius.

04Playlist Notes

The first track you played on repeat?
The first track I can remember playing over and over and over in my room would be 'Ghetto Gospel' by 2pac and Elton John. Just had another listen, been a while.

A song that defines the teenage you?
My teenage years were so varied. But a couple of stand out songs would be 'Lonely' by Speaker Knockerz, and 'Rehab' by Amy Winehouse.

One record you would keep forever?
'Hotel California' by Eagles can and always will be in every playlist I make.

A song lyric that has inspired you?
“Don’t let them change ya, or even rearrange ya”

From 'Could You Be Loved' by Bob Marley. I think this was one lyric that made me really want to write my own music. Bob Marley just simply knew what he wanted to do, and neither you nor I could change that.

The song that would get you straight on the dance floor?
Songs that would get me on the dance floor change so often! It's gotta be something great though… Let's say 'Pusherman' by Curtis Mayfield.

A song you wished you had written?
Growing up I was always wishing I wrote some of the songs I was hearing, but now that I do make my own music, I learned it's just not quite the same feeling as hearing a song by someone else that really hits your heart. So I guess besides my own music I really don’t want to write anything else!

Best song to turn up loud?
I don’t think it's possible to listen to 'Hercules' by Aaron Neville, lower than 110% volume. Correct me if I'm wrong though?

A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
Maybe 'Teenage Dirtbag' by Wheatus?

Best song to end an all-nighter on?
Gotta end the night listening to some acoustic Rolling Stones. Probably 'Angie' to be specific. Just keeps my head from falling off its shoulders after a few too many orange juices.

Any new music you are listening to right now?
Check out 'Faithful' by Luui! Great song. Also 'about the party' by Kamal. Both beautiful songs!
