This iteration of our staple roll neck jumper is built with fine lambswool in a half milano stitch, with a jacquard knit Laurel Wreath at the sleeve. This style is inspired by a piece from the archives - an original 1970s jumper that was immortalised by the “Spanish Enigma” - Olympic skier Francisco Fernandez Ochoa.
Ochoa was an early sponsor of Fred who wore the label during his training and went on to win Gold in the down-hill slalom at the 1972 Winter Olympics in Japan. His technical form of skiing which included athletic twisting and turning resulted in him being known as the ‘matador on skis’.
