03Interview

Describe your style in three words?

Dark side skating.

The first track you played on repeat? And where did you play it?

Sex Pistols - My Way

Sophomore in high school on camping trips with friends . Sid Vicious an angry and dead village idiot. Fascinated by being obscene and now it just seems silly.

A song from your favourite album? And what does this track mean to you?

Riverdales - Crash Of The Moons

A love song about space and science. Very original and catchy.

A song from your most memorable gig?

The Cure - A Forest

Seattle 1990. The Wish tour. The very peak of their career. A moment for artistic bliss in an otherwise drab early adulthood existence.

A song that always gets you up and dancing?

Erasure - Sometimes

That voice that co-exists with the harsh digital synthesis. The warm and the sharp in perfect harmony for one time in this historic year for music 1986

A new song you're listening to? Why do you like this artist?

The Accüsed - Halo of Flies

The energy and voice of Blaine Farr's performance capture the originality of this obscure genre. Skatepunk or hardcore. This was new and exciting and is done on "Halo of Flies" as perfection

Best song to turn up loud? And why?

Screeching Weasel - Hanging Around

In the shower getting ready for work. The desperation in Ben Weasel's voice is alarming but mesmerizing. Over and over the song becomes more relevant and urgent.

A song that defines the teenage you? And the memories it evokes?

Ramones - Psycho Therapy - 2002 Remaster

Being stuck in a constant state of intimacy versus isolation that stretches far beyond the teenage years.

An anthemic song? Why does it get your pulse racing?

Metallica - Seek & Destroy - Remastered

The angst and pure brutality of the beginning of a metal revolution. Played at speeds and perfection not previously known to man

Best song to end an all-nighter?

The Smashing Pumpkins - Farewell And Goodnight - Remastered 2012

A beautiful lullaby that brings up the bittersweet feelings of a warm late night. How parting is such sweet and lonely sorrow.
