03Interview

Describe your style in three words?

Preppy, honest and true.

The first track you played on repeat? And where did you play it?

Lenny Kravitz - American Woman

I had just come back from holiday and had been given this mix CD from my auntie and I just played this track on repeat for hours upon hours. It was the first track that I got a pretend microphone and performed in front of a pretend audience.

A song from your favourite album? And what does this track mean to you?

Plan B - She Said

This song and the album made me want to become a musician. The whole concept of the album. Every single track carries the story and I compare everything musically that I do back to this album.

A song from your most memorable gig?

Plan B - ill Manors

The gig was at the Globe Theatre and it blew the roof off (if the Globe had a roof it would of). It was his first headline show in around 5 years and it did not disappoint. All of the fans screaming the chorus was mad.

A song that always gets you up and dancing?

Paris Music - Best Things In Life Are Free (Originally Performed By Luther Vandross & Janet Jackson) [Full Vocal Version]

This song just makes you dance! I love to have a little drink and think I know how to dance and just go with it. It’s a very infectious song.

A new song you're listening to? Why do you like this artist?

Hollie Beadell - Get It Right

The reason why I am listening to my own song so much is I am about to go on tour. The band and I are constantly trying to improve the live version.

Best song to turn up loud? And why?

Marvin Gaye - Ain't No Mountain High Enough

Crank that right up. Ever since I saw Sister Act 2 this song has been one of those that just makes you want to jump in the car and have it on full pelt.

A song that defines the teenage you? And the memories it evokes?

Nelly - Dilemma

Watching the music video on MTV and trying to remember the words to it. Trying to be cool by singing the lyrics at school with your friends and getting one word wrong and them never letting you live it down.

An anthemic song? Why does it get your pulse racing?

Queen - We Are the Champions - Live At Wembley Stadium / July 1986

I first time I listened to this song was when I watched The Mighty Ducks 2 and thought this is way too good to from just this film. Then I learned that it was from one of, if not the best UK band of all time.

Best song to end an all-nighter?

Oasis - Wonderwall

Last song I would play at the end of a DJ set. It just finishes the night off before it’s kick out time and your off to get a horrid but extremely satisfying takeaway.
