Describe your style in three words?
Indie, Vintage, Retro.
The first track you played on repeat?
The Beatles - Twist And Shout - Remastered 2009
I first listened to this track when I started playing the guitar, I must have been about 16 years old. I liked John Lennon's voice, it was almost punk sounding!
A song from your favorite album?
The Beatles - Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds - Remastered 2009
Taken from the album 'Sgt Peppers' every time I hear this song it takes me to another world. It was recorded in the middle of a cultural revolution, pop music was experimental. This track is a great reflection of the psychedelic movement of the 1960s.
A song from your most memorable gig?
Hush Mozey - A Place for Them - Live at DBS Studios, Bristol, 2019
Bristol band 'Hush Mozey' bring together ska, indie and garage rock into a sound they like to call 'Drowzy Rock and Roll' Packed with energy and sounds. Refreshing!
A song that always gets you up and dancing?
Booker T. & the M.G.'s - Green Onions
The first time I listened to this tune I fell in love with its vibe right away. I played it so much in my flat in Bristol the neighbour got so mad!
A new song you're listening to?
FUR - If You Know That I'm Lonely
I just found out about this band and they are fantastic! The singer has the perfect bowl haircut in the video I really like. They seem like such nice guys and have some cracking tunes!
Best song to turn up loud?
Molchat Doma - Судно (Борис Рижий)
This song is just incredible! The soundscape is fantastic, with some interesting sounds. Well worth a listen.
A song that defines the teenage you?
Oasis - Cigarettes & Alcohol - Remastered
I think most teenagers in England could relate to this tune in one way or another. Great guitar riff very similar to T-Rex. All-round winner!
An anthemic song?
Joe T. Johnson - 10 Pounds
My debut single '10 Pounds' was released in March 2020. It talks about life in England. People often say it would be a great fit for the movie 'This is England'.
Best song to end an all-nighter?
Johnny Cash - Folsom Prison Blues - Live at Folsom State Prison, Folsom, CA - January 1968
As you drift into much-needed sleep imagine what it was like to be at this show! well worth checking out.
