03Interview

Describe your style in three words?

Strange Cat Style

The first track you played on repeat?

The Shirelles - Baby It's You

I first heard it while watching the movie 'The Wanderers'. It's played during the strip poker scene. Perfect pop. The Beatles do a great version too.

A song from your favorite album?

Dexys Midnight Runners - There There My Dear

Brilliant song from of the best debut albums of all time. Much underrated band Dexys. Dexys are certainly not just for Christmas.

A song from your most memorable gig?

The Stone Roses - I Am the Resurrection - Remastered

I've seen the Roses a few times over the years but they did a blistering version of this at Szigetfest in Hungary. For the outro, I swear they left planet earth and took the crowd with them.

A song that always gets you up and dancing?

Jerry Lee Lewis - Baby Hold Me Close

This is what the killer is all about. Menacing and intense.

A new song you're listening to?

Unloved - Strange Effect

I love this version of an old Kinks song. Unloved are a brilliant band. I'd love to play bass for them.

Best song to turn up loud?

Primal Scream - Loaded - Andy Weatherall Mix

Speaks for its self. Life-affirming brilliant.

A song that defines the teenage you?

The Clash - London Calling - Remastered

I grew up with The Clash and this tune reminds me of those time.

An anthemic song?

The Jesus and Mary Chain - Some Candy Talking

Love the Mary Chain to bits and this like a punk rock/Spector mash-up.

Best song to end an all-nighter?

Mazzy Star - Fade Into You

Perfect come down song.
