My name's Jonny Yerrell, from The Reytons, South Yorkshire, United Kingdom.

Describe your style in three words?

Comfortable designer 'chav'.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?

Michael Jackson, Don Valley Bowl, Sheffield (1997). In terms of production and that special 'I was there moment', I think it's gonna be hard to beat.

If you could be on the line up with any two artists in history?

It's a difficult one because I have so many artists I'd have loved to share a stage with, but as a frontman of an indie band, you'd be lying if you didn't bring up Oasis at Knebworth in 1996. Either that or Spike Island - they both go down as two of the most iconic shows in British history. However, contradicting one-half of the Gallagher brothers, the dream would've been to play alongside Jay-Z when he headlined the pyramid stage at Glastonbury. Despite Noel's very public disapproval, I'm personally a massive fan and think he absolutely smashed it.

Which subcultures have influenced you?

Growing up in a working-class household, I've always been inspired by the underdogs and tales of people striving for success. This has definitely had an impact on me as a person; I just don't know when to give up and every time I've been knocked down over the last twenty years of trying to make it, I've leapt back up like Tyson Fury. It's also had an influence on my dress sense and music tastes - as I said earlier, I opt for the comfortable yet stylish option (some people might call this chavvy) and with music, I have been drawn to traditional '90s hip-hop filled with rags to riches stories. I'd have to say these are my main influences.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?

Oooh difficult, but I'd like to spend time with Steve Coogan, drinking whisky and chatting sh*t. Could've used this hour to save the world or influence the band a bit more, but it's nice to switch off every now and then.

Of all the venues you’ve been to or played, which is your favourite?

We've played all over; churches, caves and I think next year we're playing in a boat. But the O2 Academy in Sheffield has a place in my heart - it's the place where we looked at ourselves and thought 'this is a turning point'. An iconic moment in 2019 when we sold it out, and even bigger when we did it twice this year, it's our home ground in South Yorkshire.

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?

I'm gonna pick someone from the UK and I'm gonna go with Plan B. He's done everything from film to music to writing and he's been through all the hardship along the way. This guy's a f*cking grafter and a very talented one at that.
