03Interview

Describe your style in three words?

wannabe British style.

The first track you played on repeat? And where did you play it?

Suzi Quatro - Stumblin' In

One of the first tracks I remember as a child. Had to hope it would be played on the radio.

A song from your favourite album? And what does this track mean to you?

Depeche Mode - Enjoy the Silence

The most perfect pop song. Ever. Violator saw the Mode at its synth pop peak. It was the first album I was able to buy as a vinyl straight on release day and so remains a treasure.

A song from your most memorable gig?

Depeche Mode - Somebody

On 17 February 2010 the Mode played the Royal Albert Hall. For this one song lost member Alan Wilder took the stage. Fans still call it the magic moment, shed a tear.

A song that always gets you up and dancing?

Pet Shop Boys - Girls and Boys - Live in Rio; 2018 Remaster

Should be included in every DJ-set. Unites two of the greatest English bands. Timeless.

A new song you're listening to? Why do you like this artist?

The Specials - 10 Commandments

Brilliant and inspiring new album by The Specials, unbelievably fresh and with a decent attitude. Was lucky enough to see them and Saffiyah Khan live in Berlin.

Best song to turn up loud? And why?

Oasis - Supersonic - Remastered

Stands for any Oasis tune. At every opportunity!

A song that defines the teenage you? And the memories it evokes?

The Smiths - Half a Person - 2011 Remaster

Wish it would be Firestarter or Rock' n Roll Star or Street Fighting Man. But...

An anthemic song? Why does it get your pulse racing?

The Verve - Sonnet

It's an anthem with no doubt. But in the same time it can make you cry. Check out the acoustic version.

Best song to end an all-nighter?

Oasis - Champagne Supernova

Guess, that's what it was written for, was it.
