The Stranglers, of course, need no introduction, even with their current lineup being minus the presence of Hugh Cornwell. Their dark, blackened and wry take on Punk and New Wave, and the influence they still wield are legendary. March sees the release of their latest album "Giants" (out now) and as the album artwork suggests, The Stranglers still have a few shocks left up their sleeve.
With the album's cover depicting a children's playground with four nooses hanging where the swings should be, and supporting material showing the band members hanged from said nooses, prodded and swung back and forth by an onlooking child, it's fair to say, The Stranglers have not succumbed to 'dad rock'. Far from it.
The release also sees the band hit the road, along with their legion of loyal fans. So far, the live shows have garnered rave reviews from the likes of John Robb, and YOU can still catch The Stranglers at the following live dates :
