Centrefolds - New EP - FREE DOWNLOAD

Wednesday 20th June 2012

BBC 6 Music's Tom Robinson recently, accurately, described Centrefolds' new EP as "...unapologetic, artfully crafted, hook-laden indie-pop", but that is not to say that it is without its heavier moments, sounding at times like Bath's own Queens Of The Stone Age, re-imagined with a Josh Homme that grew up in the UK's West Country as opposed to that of the US.

If the comparison between Joshua Tree, California and North Somerset is a little obtuse, then we apologise, please read on. For us the Stand out track on the "Release The Hounds EP" is "Fresh Air". Drums, guitar and bass are super tight, hard and unfussy, with production that would make many more established bands envious. The vocals are skillfully woven through the angular scaffold of distortion, with the treatment of the backing vocals showing an attention to detail, lacking in so many bands currently working at this level, in this genre. See for yourself below.
