Fronted by Manchester music legend John Robb, influential post-punk band, Membranes, have announced a special London gig, billed as ‘a celebration of Denmark St live before the developers come…’
The gig will take place on 20th Decmeber at the 12 Bar (Denmark, St London) with the band telling the history of the inconic London street, that has been central to so much of the city's musical past, but which is now sadly threatened with demolition and redevelopment.
Tickets for the event are available here.
Membranes reformed a couple of years ago after being asked by My Bloody Valentine and then Shellac to play the ATP festivals they were curating.
The band are working on their first album for 25 years. 'Dark Matter/Dark Energy’ which will be released in March 2015. Turning the idea of Punk on its own head to integrate other diverse musical styles, the album will be based around last year's Universe Explained where they Higgs Boson scientists explained the origins of the universe before the Membranes played their set.
