After taking new track "Millbrook Road" across 4 different stages at this years Glastonbury Festival, Seán McGowan spent some time in the studio last week with Sam Duckworth, (Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly) and Jay Malhotra where they recorded and mixed this song in a day.
Of the new track, Seán said: 'Both the song and the road mean an unbelievable amount to me. It was a difficult song to write, but it's even harder to perform. Recording with Sam and Jay was an absolute pleasure. They both quickly realised what this meant to me and worked quickly but carefully to capture the right vibe. It was an honour to be in their company as much as it was to work with them'
The song was an instant hit with the Pilton crowd and Sean has since been playing the song at festivals up and down the country. He continued, 'I've performed the song a few times now. The most special one was certainly at Glastonbury LeftField stage with Billy Bragg and Amanda Palmer sat on my right. They are both songwriters I aspire to be on par with.'
There are no immediate plans for the track to be released but listen here for the exclusive stream now on Fred Perry Subculture.
Seán McGowan will be playing Bestival on the 8th September and details of two tours around the country will be announced very soon.
