Soul musicians Stone Foundation are due to release single "Fe Fi Fo Fum" through Heavy Soul Records on February 18th 2013. The tracks were recorded with and feature vocals from Northern Soul legend Nolan Porter. Nolan is one of the biggest names around when it comes to Northern Soul with hits such as 'Keep On Keeping On', and 'If I Could Only Be Sure') the latter which was covered by Paul Weller.
Also watch this space for the screening of a short film which documents this collaboaration between Stone Foundation and Nolan Porter, an extract of which you can watch below.
The single 'Fe Fi Fo Fum' will be released initially on a limited 7" Vinyl only via Heavy Soul Records. It will be backed by a new Stone Foundation song "Warning Signs" - this track will be exclusive to this release, neither song will feature on Stone Foundation's forthcoming album, released later in the year. This is a one off, stand alone limited edition single release. "Fe-Fi-Fo-Fum" is a new studio version and NOT the live version from the recent Live at the 100 club CD release. It is a song originally recorded by Nolan for his "No Apologies" album in the early 70's and it was a tune that both he & Stone Foundation were keen to re-visit during their recent collaboration.
Nolan Porter is from Los Angeles, California. His love of music along with his talent for writing and vocalizing put him into Lizard Recording Studio in the early 70’s, putting out two albums, “Nolan” and “Nolan, No Apologies”.
