Eli Daura and Xavi Rosés meet in 2005. As both of them play in bands (Las Dolores, Epic Kind, Senderos and Coach Station Reunion), they soon begin composing little songs mainly influeced by the late 80's British indiepop: bands like The Go-Betweens, Talulah Gosh, The June Brides, The Field Mice, Pale Fountains, Lilac Time, The Chills or less indies as Prefab Sprout, Aztec Camera and Lloyd Cole, as well as american bands like East River Pipe, Jim Ruiz o Yo La Tengo. That's the start of Fred i Son (Cold and Sleep).
At the begining of 2009 Xesc Cabot joins the band as bassist and lyricist.
Since then, Fred i Son haven't stopped playing around, presenting their self-edited demo 'En Pijama'. Finalists at the 2009 edition of demo contest Sona9, were also selected to participate at fiestas 'demoscópicas' curated by the magazine Mondo Sonoro in February 2010. They have played at Primavera Club 2009, mp7 Festival in Barcelona in February 2010, Música Lleu 2009 in Manlleu, Acústica Festival 2009 in Figueres, Primaverasound 2010, PopArb 2010, Faraday 2010,... as well as in the special gigs for children minimúsica (Primavera Sound, Alicante, Gijón, MMVV, Sant Cugat...).
“Diu que no sap què vol” is their first record, produced by Cristian Pallejà (Nisei, Sedaiós and producer of Extraperlo and Aias among others) and Fred i Son and recorded at Maik Maier studios in Barcelona.
