It's been two years since his debut album took UK bass culture in a whole new direction, perfecting minimalistic electronic bass with elegant, soulful melodies, and now James Blake returns with the epic ‘Retrograde’, on February 11th 2013, shooting him back firmly nto position as one of the best new music artists around.
Retrograde is the first single from his second album ‘Overgrown’, which will be available on April 8th.
The video for Retrograde depicts a motorcyclist journeying through a bleak wintery English countryside, across empty roads amongst woodlands, arriving at a very British looking, old abandoned country manor where strange people appear, set against what can only be described as an celestrial-asteroid event creating some kind of suspended animation.
James has already sold out the ICA London on February 26th and has subsequently released further dates, available through pre-sale on February 12th, with general sale on the 14th. Pre-sale tickets available from 10am on Tuesday via Sandbag: http://jamesblaketickets.sandbag.uk.com/
