UK post-punk band Savages release their highly-anticipated debut album, Silence Yourself, on Matador Records / Pop Noire which can be listened to below. To mark this release, Savages have teamed up with The Creators Project to live-stream the Savages' live performance on Thursday 9th May. It will come from the band’s specially-curated event at London’s Ministry Of Sound. Directed by DARYL, the stream will be available to view below at 9:15 pm GMT.
Savages also recently revealed this suspenseful short film for their new track, “Shut Up”.
Directed by the maker of documentary 'Blur, Live at Hyde Park': Giorgio Testi, and presented by Digital Daze, the five-minute film depicts an atmospheric, emotional performance of the musicians, with singer Jehnny Beth speaking alongside:
“We live in an age of many stimulations. If you’re focused, you’re harder to reach. If you’re distracted, you’re available. Perhaps having deconstructed everything, we should be thinking about putting everything back together.”
“Shut Up” will feature on the bands forthcoming debut album "Silence Yourself", which is due for release on May 7th via Matador Records/Pop Noire, and was written in response to a time when the band were wanting to prevent themselves from being surrounded by those meerly wanting to use the band for commercial gain.
