In what looks sure to be one of the most unique collaborative, cultural projects this year, Jonny Pierce, of The Drums, will take part in a performance for Royal Ballet choreographer Wayne McGregor, produced by non other than Mark Ronson! "Carbon Life", will take place at The Royal Opera House, set to a cycle of nine love songs sung by Jonny Pierce, alongside artists such as, Boy George, Alison Mosshart of The Kills, Wale and Black Cobain. The music by Mark Ronson and Miike Snow vocalist, Andrew Wyatt has been orchestrated by Rufus Wainwright. The list of names reads like a festival billing in it's own right!
It looks set to be a busy Spring/Summer for The Drums, with their current single "Days"(see below) out now, and fast approaching headline slots at this year's Dot to Dot Festival. Jonny Pierce has collaborated with Ronson before, co-writing "You Gave Me Nothing" and "Lose It (In The End)" with Ghostface Killah on his 2010 album "Record Collection". Mark Ronson performed tracks from the album exclusively for Fred Perry Subculture, back in June 2010, featuring a performance from the late Amy Winehouse. Ticket prices for "Carbon Life" start at just £3 with a top price of £42. For ticket information visit www.roh.org.uk
