Name, where are you from?
My name's Lucy and I’m from Dublin, Ireland.

Describe your style in three words?
Just woke up.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Probably Fleetwood Mac in 2015 in the 3arena. I was like thirteen so I don’t know if I fully appreciated it but I just remember feeling so in awe of what I was hearing. One of the best live shows I ever remember. I think it got me hooked on live music. And Stevie Nicks is my ultimate idol and long lost mother.

If you could be on the line up with any two bands or artists in history?
Blondie as I’d do anything to play a set with Debbie. She’s the coolest and I’d love to meet her and borrow her clothes. I always loved her style. Also, Radiohead, I’d do anything to see them live and I couldn’t even imagine being on the same lineup. These two would be my dream.

Which Subcultures have influenced you?
I was influenced a lot by youth subcultures of skateboarding and graffiti and how people like Larry Clark and Harmony Korine shed a light on it through film. I love the photography of people like Corrine Day and especially Davide Sorrenti who captured New York’s youth and street subculture like no one else.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Got to be Stevie Nicks. Or Elvis Presley. And Neil Armstrong too. Maybe all at one table.

Of all the venues you’ve been to, which is your favourite?
I think maybe somewhere from my Hometown. The Workman's club is where I played live for the first time at a songwriting night. There’s so many nice venues like the Olympia theatre, I’ve had so many good nights there.

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
Daniel Johnston - one of the most important creative souls and to me expressed true love and art like no one else. The purity and childlikeness of his art is really beautiful and all his visuals and drawings too. I have a comic book of them it's incredible. I think Daniel has been so influential and paved the way for lots of people today. The Devil and Daniel is one of my favourite films ever.

04Playlist Notes

The first track you played on repeat?
'Crazy Love' by Van Morrison. I think 'Astral Weeks' was probably the first record I ever heard and had on my iPod so I had no choice but to listen on repeat. I’m so glad though, what a record.

A song that defines the teenage you?
'Heart Out' by The 1975. Probably that whole self-titled album soundtracked my teenage years.

One record you would keep forever?
'Sometimes It Snows In April' by Prince. A special special song to me and one of my desert island records.

A song lyric that has inspired you?
“don't you know there ain't no devil there's just God when he's drunk”

From 'Heartattack and Vine' by Tom waits.

A song you wished you had written?
'Both Sides Now' by Joni Mitchell.

Best song to turn up loud?
'I Wanna Be Adored' by The Stone Roses or 'Signs' by Snoop Dog - SO GOOD.

A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
Literally anything by Owl City.

The song to get you straight on the dance floor?
'Step On' by Happy Mondays. All night.

Best song to end an all-nighter?
'From a Late Night Train' by The Blue Nile.

Any new bands you are into at the moment?
Biig Piig, Berwyn and Benjamin Francis Leftwich.
