Name, where are you from?
Alistair Waterfield, Wellingborough in Northamptonshire.
What do you do?
I’m studying Fine Art at Central Saint Martins and I work for George Cox footwear as Creative Director.
Describe your style in three words?
Untethered, Eclectic, Subversive.
Which music defines the teenage you?
Teenage me was all about rock and punk, The Smiths, Bowie, Sex Pistols, The Clash; my dad wouldn’t give me much other choice, which looking back I’m pretty happy about.
A British icon who has inspired you, and why?
Thom Yorke has been a big inspiration, his songwriting for Radiohead and his solo work has stuck with me since the first time I listened.
What has been your all-time favourite gig?
My favourite gig was seeing Fat White Family in Hackney. I got busted up a bit with my mate, there’s a great photo somewhere of him in a headlock between Lias’ legs.
What is your favourite independent venue to watch live music?
Probably the Moth Club, although I’m not there as much anymore. I like to shop around normally in East for music, but Jazz Cafe has had some great nights on too, I’m only a regular at my local pub nowadays.
