Jennifer Davies has hit a perfect balance of pop music and fashionable electro edge with her 'Lapse Of Time EP' (out now). Drawing on influences that must include Madonna, Kate Bush, Toyah and the sweeping synth-pop landscape of the 1980s, Davies makes slick pop music for grown-ups. A new music must for fans of the likes of Robyn and Kyla La Grange.
The stand out song for us is the title track and its superbly shot time lapse video, which you can watch below.
The video, along those for 'Choke' and 'Silhouette', was directed by long-term collaborator Maxx Peter, with the latest and final track to emerge in video form being 'Disconnected' (see below) kicking off with a bass line Peter Hook would be happy with.
Speaking about the EP Davies explains, “I’ve worked extremely hard to create this with a small group of incredibly talented and dedicated people all based in and around Liverpool and the North-West of England, who have come to feel like a family to me. I really hope that you will love it.”
You can listen to the EP in its entirety, and download it, from Souncloud, and from jenniferdavies.co.uk.
