The mysterious London duo comprising brothers Loral and Ronnel Raphael, also known as, Sons Of Raphael have announced their debut EP 'A Nation Of Bloodsuckers'.
The title track is accompanied by a stunning video shot with acclaimed cinematographer Manuel Alberto Claro. The ambitious song and its atmospheric clip perpetuate the strangely enigmatic demeanour and excitement that emanates from the band. As Loud and Quiet recently put it, “Every now and then a band comes along with such panache that you have to wonder if the band are real at all. Sons of Raphael could be that band.”
The Raphael brothers explain some of the rationales behind the cinematic song: "Here is a refusal to see violence and tenderness as binary, but painfully and tightly interwoven - just like the God we worship who could be both a warrior as well as a nurturing mother".
‘A Nation of Bloodsuckers’ is the first single from their debut EP of the same name, to be released on Friday 14 September on Because Music on limited 12” vinyl and digital. The EP features the tracks ‘Eating People’ and ‘Rio’ taken from their debut AA single alongside brand new track ‘Jesus’.
Sons Of Raphael are also one of twelve bands due to perform at SubcultureLive's All Our Tomorrows, at London's 100 Club on Sunday 7th October 2018. Find out more and get tickets here.
