Edinburgh 4-piece, The Valkarys make, psychedelic indie-garage. With shoegaze overtones and emotive, rolling vocals from songwriter and frontman Scott Dunlop, The Valkarys also consists of Craig Birrell on lead guitar, Colin Brennan on bass and Wayne Hoy on drums.

The band self-released (Just Like) Flying With God on 25th April, following on from the success of previous EPs Chloroform and Psychodelica, and debut album The Average Can Blind You to the Excellent, which was lauded by Carl Barat of The Libertines who played tracks at his London club nights.  The band were invited by Alan McGee to play the legendary Death Disco at Notting Hill Arts Club and they also made a live appearance at the Babyshambles club night in Camden.

(Just Like) Flying With God is ten glorious tracks displaying a wide range of songcraftmanship. Opener 'Meraki' is an upbeat, 60s inspired British guitar pop song, whilst other tracks range from more americana, country-esque rock with 'Honey Hill' and 'We are the World'. The band deliver kaleidoscopic psych-indie with 'Xylophobia,'  and '(Lover) Don't Go' whilst at times elements of late 90s Britpop and 00s indie-rock influences can be heard.

The quartet first came to the attention of UK radio stations with their debut single 'Candy Girl', released in 2006 on Diffusion Records.  The single was supported by a two week UK tour that won the band a strong fanbase through their blistering live appearances. The band have since performed at extensive UK tours and a coveted support slot with Exit Calm.
