What is your name? Where are you from?
Holly Chant…Where I am from is a bit of a long story but where I am now is London.
What do you do?
I’m one half of an acoustic duo called “Xylaroo.” I sing and my sister plays guitar and sings too.
Describe your style in three words?
Androgynous, comfortable and casual.
How should your music be listened to?
Listen to it while you're in the shower and sing along! Or don’t! and listen to it however you’d like… there’s no one right way, only many, many wrong ways to listen to our music. Also listening to it on our newly released album which comes in CD and Vinyl is a good start.
What do you miss about home when you’re on tour?
Home-cooked food, my bed, time to myself, sleeping in, my cat, and most importantly, precious time with the ones I love.
What British music icons inspire your sound today?
The Beatles, The Animals, The Kinks, David Bowie, Elton John, Rod Stewart, Queen, Mika, Fleetwood Mac (Kinda British).
Xylaroo won over fans from an early stage, getting attention with their cover of Arctic Monkeys' "I Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor". Their latest single "Track A' Lackin'" features another great cover version on the B-side - Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive".
