Name?
Juliette Jackson, The Big Moon.

Where are you from?
London.

What do you do?
Rock music.

Describe your style in three words?
Grunge Glam-Casual.

You can make a record with anyone from history?
Amy Winehouse. We'd make some gorgeous girl group harmonies and pretend to be The Ronettes. Back to Black.

What do you miss about home when you're on tour?
My big warm cuddly, delicious boyfriend and good cups of tea.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been too?
I saw HMTLD recently in Southampton, they are the most exciting band around at the moment. Listen to 'Stained'.

What British music icons inspire your sound today?
I love the kinks and David Bowie, and Damon Albarn is one of my favourite songwriters. Listen to 'Strangers' by The Kinks.

You can spend an hour with anyone from history?
I would spend an hour with James Dean and we'd do something filthy.

The Big Moon are a lo-fi indie grunge quartet from London whose music is equal parts Elastica and Pixies. They previously featured on our Sound Of Subculture 2016 piece and were chosen as part of our British New Wave 2017.

Their debut album 'Love in The 4th Dimension' was released on 7th April 2017.

04Playlist Notes

What was the first song you played on repeat?
'Torn' by Natalie Imbruglia.

One record you would keep forever?
'Gigantic' by The Pixies.

Song you wish you had written?
'Out Of Time' by Blur.

Song that defines the teenage you?
'Anything' by Savage Garden.

A song lyric that inspires you?
"C***s are still running the world"

'Running The World' by Jarvis Cocker.

4 songs by new bands you can’t stop listening to right now?

'A Thousand Times' by Hamilton Leithauser & Rostam Batmanglij.
It’s so passionate, I can't stop singing it.

'Country Sleaze' by Goat Girl
the singers voice is so deep and lazy and drawling and lush.

'Boyfriend' by Marika Hackman
She’s like Elliot Smith crossed with Wheatus, but with the most beautiful voice.

'NO CD' by Loyle Carner
Super chilled rap, and he is a dreamboat.
