Name, where are you from?
We are Beach Beach, four Majorcan guys based in Barcelona.
What do you do?
We write and play sparkly power pop.
Describe your style in three words:
Arreglaíto pero informal.
A British icon or band who inspire your sound?
Scotts stole our hearts years ago, and Orange Juice 'Falling And Laughing' will always be a reference. The Jam 'London Traffic' and Prefab Sprout 'Faron' are cool as well.
What is the last piece of music you bought?
'The People Who Grinned Themselves To Death' by The Housemartins.
Most meaningful lyrics to inspire change?
'Stop' by Mega City Four.
What has been your all-time favourite gig?
03/02/2007 Sala Apolo (Barcelona), the (one night only) return of the post-hardcore/emo local classics Aina, in a benefit gig to raise money for Jay Robbins from Jawbox’s son.
22/05/2008 My Bloody Valentine (Madrid) they played Benicàssim the night before, and that was their first time ever in Spain, but the gig in Madrid was in a more reduced and comfortable spot. I still remember the volume blasting against my whole body, in the front row.
Beach Beach are a four-piece indie band, originating from Mallorca and based in Barcelona, leading the current Spanish indie scene.
