The Australian indie songstress had arguably the most successful 2015 of all, her debut album 'Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit' topped nearly every 'Best Of' lists last year and has been nominated for a Grammy award for 'Best New Artist'. Her incredible 2015 was then capped off by opening for Blur at Hollywood Bowl and Madison Square Garden.
Her lyrics and music have earned favourable comparisons to icons such as Patti Smith and Bob Dylan; with her ability to find beauty in the mundane aspects of everyday life; and then create witty, poetic turns of phrase. 'Three Packs A Day' for instance, is a song about instant noodles.
'Three Packs A Day' isn't the first new music we've heard from Courtney since her album dropped, in the latter half of 2015 she visited Jack White's Third Man Studio's to record a cover of the Boys next Door's song 'Shivers'. The A-side to that track was called 'Boxing Day Blues (Revisited)', and acts as an epilogue to the closing track from 'Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit' called 'Boxing Day Blues'. You nca listen to that below too.
