New Orleans-based duo Generationals have released an advance single and accompanying video to promote their upcoming album, Heza, due 2 April via Polyvinyl Records.

The single, “Put A Light On,” is a dazzling pastiche of indie pop, lo-fi soul and psych and the promotional clip was directed by Vice Cooler (Feist, La Sera, STRFKR) and shot on location in the Big Easy.

Generationals’ principals, Ted Joyner and Grant Widmer, met as high school freshmen in New Orleans and formed the band The Eames Era while attending Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA. After that group called it quits in 2007, Joyner and Widmer returned to New Orleans and formed Generationals. Debut LP Con Law was recorded in Washington DC in 2008 and released the following year. Con Law was followed by 2010’s Trust EP and the 2011 sophomore LP Actor-Caster.

Heza, which was recorded in Austin, Texas, DC and New Orleans and produced by Daniel Black (The Oranges Band, The Eames Era), will be released on CD, vinyl, cassette and MP3 and supported by a 25-date spring tour of the U.S. that will start and end with shows in Louisiana.
