Jarvis Cocker announces intimate tour

Tuesday 20th March 2018

Following a one-off performance at a festival in Iceland, Jarvis Cocker has announced a string of mysterious, intimate gigs at English venues aiming to bring the material to a home audience. The tour includes two gigs, referred to as ‘a rave in a cave’, taking place in Peak Cavern, a Derbyshire cave known locally as ‘The Devil’s Arse’ and located relatively close to Jarvis’s native Sheffield.

Naturally, the Pulp frontman and Radio 6 Music DJ will provide the vocals with the band’s line up including acclaimed harpist/pianist Serafina Steer (Bas Jan, Bat For Lashes, John Foxx and The Maths)’ and Adam Betts (drummer of cult electro outfit Three Trapped Tigers).

In a fittingly unconventional statement about the gigs Jarvis and team stated:

JARV is entirely implausible
JARV is a way of looking at the world
JARV is an acronym
JARV stands for something
JARV is louder than you might expect
JARV is two women & three men
JARV is up close & personal
JARV is troglodytic
JARV is a rave in a cave
JARV is a group
JARV is the next best thing
JARV is electric music
JARV is a work in progress
JARV is happening
JARV is ancient & modern at the same time
JARV is playing near you very soon
JARV is an experiment
JARV is a night to remember
JARV is a live experience with no barriers
……& always will be.
