Austin, Texas-based C3 Presents has announced the official line-up for Lollapalooza 2015 to take place in Chicago’s Grant Park, 31 July-2 August.
Top-billed for Friday, 31 July are Paul McCartney, The Weeknd, alt-J and Alabama Shakes. Other “day one” highlights include Philadelphia’s The War on Drugs, Father John Misty, Radiohead drummer Philip Selway, New Zealand bother-sister duo Broods, Atlanta rapper Young Thug and Canadian rock duo Black Pistol Fire.
Saturday’s headliners will be veteran thrashers Metallica, blue-eyed soul singer Sam Smith, Alesso and Australian psych poppers Tame Impala. Further down the bill, standout acts include The Tallest Man on Earth, psych-country troubadour Sturgill Simpson, recently reunited Death From Above 1979, Charli XCX, Welsh band Catfish and the Bottlemen, M83 collaborator Morgan Kibby (aka White Sea) and Detroit retro-rockers Jessica Hernandez & The Deltas.
Lollapalooza 2015 wraps up on Sunday, 2 August with headliners Florence and the Machine, Bassnectar and Of Mice and Men. Other top acts on the final day include TV on the Radio, Marina and the Diamonds, FKA twigs, festival mainstays Gogol Bordello, sibling duo Wild Belle, Chicago garage rockers Twin Peaks and Montreal EDM act Black Tiger Sex Machine.
As of press time, single and three-day passes for Lollapalooza are sold out with only very pricey platinum, VIP and travel package tickets available.
