Seattle is renowned for delivering some of the greatest and most influential artists of recent years. We are talking The Sonics, Foo Fighters and the late great Jimi Hendrix. Continuing this rich legacy, and rightly so, are Garage duo My Goodness, with their debut single "C'Mon Doll" released Monday 28th of May.
Headed up by Joel Schneider and Ethan Jacobsen, this single could well be the song that could make this Washington band an international success. The beauty is in the simplicity. Just a guitar and a drum kit render this a warm, blues injected resonance. There is a real air of early Black Keys here, saying which already garners attention and demands you listen.
Cutting half way in, they dramatically change tempo, which more than compensates for lack of bass, adding an extra depth without over production or any additions of instruments. This emphasises the point that some of the best music ever produced is powerful in its intelligibility.
Supporting We are Augustines this may could prove fruitful, and bring back that Seattle sound we almost forgot about. For those of the curious nature, the dates are listed below.
