Radkey
2015 UK tour dates for US Punk band
Monday 27th July 2015
Missouri-trio Radkey, drawing well deserved and obvious comparisons to Danzig, The Misfits and The Ramones, also evoke the British Punk spirit with elements of The Damned and the Buzzcocks echoing throughout their take on a modern punk/rock sound. Radkey are composed of brothers Dee Radke (Guitar/Vocals) and Isaiah Radke (Bass/Vocals), and Solomon Radke (Drums) whose heavy riff savvy songs disguise the youth of their combined teenage years.
The band have announced a return to the UK for a full UK tour in October and November, to mark the release of their highly anticipated debut album Dark Black Makeup, scheduled for release on Littleman Records on August 21st. Preorder here.
Radkey recently shared new single 'Love Spills', “a song about an evil villain type character and his dreams of terrorizing the city that he loves,” as explained by Isaiah.
Recorded at McCall Sound Studios in Sheffield with producer Ross Orton (Arctic Monkeys, The Fall, Jarvis Cocker), Dark Black Makeup is the culmination of these three young men’s unconventional lives to date. It is, they say, an album concerned with “jealousy, regret, love, obsession, death, insecurity, and sadistic, evil people - the kind of things that make you feel uneasy”. As Isaiah elaborates: “There’s a real dark streak to this album; we’re inspired by the movies of Stanley Kubrick and if you pay attention you might find some of the lyrics uncomfortable to listen to. A lot of these are what I would call ‘fuck love’ songs.”
The Missouri trio will perform at Reading & Leeds Festival, and a one-off show at the Old Blue Last with special guests on Tuesday 1st September.
