Rat Boy

Punchy indie-punk full of energy and beats

Saturday 12th September 2015

Rat Boy is 19-year-old Essex boy named Jordan Cardy. Delivering lyrics about the grueling endurance of being young and broke, Rat Boys latest song 'Fake ID' echoes the indie of Jamie T and Arctic Monkeys, with a punchy indie-punk sound full of energy and clever beats.

Finding his influences from punk, Britpop, US hip hop and British film, he spends most of his time recording and skating, and recently co-directed his latest music video for 'Fake ID', along with Sam Hiscox and Jonny 3socks. Opening with a shot of Jordan and his mates out in Chinatown, looking superb in drag, the video is a bizarre but stylish, mini escape film, mischievious and care-free as the artist himself. ‘Fake ID’ will be available digitally and on limited edition coloured 7” vinyl on October 2nd

Rat Boy also recently unveilled his Neighbourhood Watch which delivers a slick mix of reggae, rap, hip-hop, garage rock, and punk.
