Real Lies - World Peace

Friday 19th December 2014

North London trio Real Lies have unveiled their Joe Alexander-directed video to their new single ‘World Peace’.

'World Peace' is officially released 5th January on 12” and download via Marathon Artists. It follows the success of recent AA-sided single North Circular / Dab Housingwhich established Real Lies as one of the UK’s most exciting new bands.

Dripping in nostalgia, Real Lies – Tom Watson, Kev Kharas and Tom King, perfect the blue collar urban semblance of stoic longing and inner discontent. They embody what it is to be young, locked in and yet somehow adrift in Britain today.

Draped in European sports gear, the group are clearly heavily influenced by the British subcultures Casuals and Britpop, with their music takes sonic elements from the Madchester scene; Happy Mondays and Stone Roses, as well as later artists such as The Streets.
Their track 'North Circular' was one of 2014’s great new music moments, and became a firm favourite of DJ’s such as Jamie xx, who first debuted the track during his London Boiler Room set.
