Sinkane's new album "MARS", an unmissable, mystical journey of 70s jazz flutes, disco beats, wah-wah, and sax, is out now! Its layer upon layer of percussive complexity, make it one of the most engrossing, yet chilled albums to come out his year, exuding more heat and UV than the multitude of new music currently hiding under the tropical tag. Watch the video for the single "Runnin" below:
In addition to ending the year with a great album release, Sinkane have reportedly managed to land a nice NYC support slot with none other than Solange Knowles!
Born in Sudan, Sinkane (AKA Ahmad Gallab) is no newcomer to the scene having toured with Of Montreal, Caribou and Born Ruffians. In addition to producing "MARS", Gallab is a virtual one-man band, playing at least four instruments on every track. The album also features a screaming guitar solo from George Lewis Jr. of Twin Shadow, as well as contributions from Ira Wolf Tuton (Yeasayer) and saxophonist/flautist Casey Benjamin aka stutzmcgee.
