Slaves have released their heavily anticipated debut album Are You Satisfied, celebrating the release in style with a vibrant, rawkus launch party in Red Gallery, Shoreditch, on June 2nd.
Already big fans of the duo, Fred Perry continued to show their support for Slaves by inviting fans to the show via a competition, and ensuring the drinks were kept flowing all evening!
Their live performance delivered everthing the duo are known for, as one of the best live acts on the current circuit.
With a minimal setup of just two members, they managed to turn two men, two instruments, and a whole lot of shouting and sweat, into an immense, animated, and all-round solid performance, delivering both sonic and visual pleasure.
With wide-ranging influences spanning The Clash, The Streets, and Peter Hook, Slaves make garage-riffed British punk, though they certainly do not confirm to the 'pissed off, angry-punk-band' stereotype. While themes of state of the nation, societal absurdities and farcical principals run throughout Are You Satisfied, the band have fun with their quips, and are delightfully honest, brash and comical.
Slaves' new album Are You Satisfied is out now on Virgin EMI, available to purchase via the official store, or listen in full below.
