After the critical success of the bands first single 'Spark to Start / Sirens' released last November, the Watford trio Spitfires have gained more and more friends in the last few months with their stunning live shows. The Spitfires were also personally invited by style mag Jocks & Nerds to play at their joint party at East Village in Shoreditch to a packed crowd as part of London Fashion Week. They’ve also recently returned from playing their first show in Scotland and playing a sold out venue in Dundee. Alongside the live work, lead singer Billy Sullivan has been interviewed for various magazines and TV shows, about all things Modernism.
Monday June 17th 2013 will see The Spitfires launch another release, with their 2nd single entitled ‘Tell Me / Words To Say’ on Griffiths Records. Both songs were recorded at Paul Weller’s Black Barn Studio in Surrey and produced by Charles Rees.
The tracks tackle the issues of teenage mentality and social problems – with 'Tell Me speaking out about teenage drug abuse and 'Words To Say' about teenage depression, underlined by music representing frustration, energy and passion.
